A psychoeducational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of the psychological aspects of learning and of academic skills.
Psychological aspects of learning include:
- language skills
- verbal and visual learning
- attention and concentration
Academic skills include:
- mathematics (and the fluency with which the student performs the above skills)
- listening comprehension
- oral communication skills
For elementary school through college, psychoeducational evaluations for ADHD or learning disabilities may be necessary to ensure the student is getting the accommodations he or she needs to optimize his or her learning abilities and perform and function well in school and in life.
